What’s that? Digital Atlanta is now SouthWiRED?!

To mark the fifth anniversary of Digital Atlanta, the team decided to fling the gates wide open and rebrand the conference to be more inclusive of the entire South. Why, you ask? We noticed that our conference attendees, speakers and partners were no longer solely from the metro-Atlanta area and we wanted to better reflect the diversity of our growing conference. After all, Digital Atlanta – now SouthWiRED – is “the people’s” conference. A conference put together by individuals who are immersed in digital media 24/7 and are dedicated to getting the Southeast the recognition it deserves as a powerhouse for innovation.

We’re ready to take this conference beyond Atlanta and showcase talent, innovation and digital disruption across the entire southeast region; from Mobile, Alabama to Tampa Bay, Florida up to Charlotte, North Carolina. SouthWiRED will continue to have its roots planted in Georgia (for now), but we are taking the first step at sowing our seeds outside of Atlanta to build upon the network that has been created over the last five years. It is our network that keeps us wired to the latest and greatest in technology and new media.

Some things will stay the same, like the passion and excitement; other things will start to evolve as we work together to bring ‘SouthWiRED’ to life. The conference will still be five days of incredible content designed for every level. And, we’ll continue to throw really awesome events that show the intersection of digital and traditional mediums, like Sharpie Slam, as well as bring you the hottest new startups.

The south is a force to be reckoned with and it is the mission of SouthWiRED to bring together the biggest and brightest in digital innovation, showing the rest of the world why the south can’t be ignored.

Today, SouthWiRED is the largest (and definitely the coolest!) conference of its kind in the Southeast, with over 1,000 attendees flocking to the heart of Atlanta each year for this weeklong, one-of-a-kind experience. For those who have been with us since the beginning – thank you for taking this journey with us. For the newbies – welcome aboard. It’s going to be an electric ride!
