Sarah-Elizabeth Reed is the first lady of the City of Atlanta and the wife of the 59th and current Mayor of Atlanta, Kasim Reed. Mrs. Reed is a native of Atlanta. She attended Pace Academy and then graduated from the University of Michigan and in 2000 with a degree in French and received her J.D. from Howard University. She now consults with real estate developers on affordable and supportive housing projects.
In February 2017, Governor Nathan Deal appointed her to the Georgia Board of Regents. She is an advocate for the arts and serves on boards including the Atlanta Children’s Museum, GEERS and the nonprofit BIH.
Her late father, Senator Arthur Langford Jr., was a minister and a Georgia State Senator and her mother an attorney and prominent community leader. Both her father and husband held the same District 35 State Senate seat.
Sarah-Elizabeth Reed is married to Kasim Reed and they have one daughter, Maria Kristan Reed.
Tanya is Director of Innovation Partnerships at Tech Square Labs in Atlanta, Georgia where she helps to create more unicorns in the Atlanta startup ecosystem. She also helps large corporations access the local Atlanta entrepreneurial brain pool so that they can innovate and grow.

She is a registered nurse and has practiced at Northside Hospital, New York Methodist Hospital, and New York Presbyterian Hospital. She holds a B.A.Sc. from McGill University in Genetics and Field Biology and a B.A.Sc. from University of Toronto as a Registered Nurse.
